I talked to two cops handing out violations to drivers failing to yield to pedestrians right around Glen Park BART this morning. Suggested better use of their time would be to set up shop at night in GP Village... blank stare. They didn't even KNOW about the multiple robberies, stabbing, etc. Huh? Had no idea what I was talking about......

Glen Park Community Meeting scheduled

A special meeting of the Glen Park Association, co-sponsored with the Glen Park Merchants Association is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 8th at St. John’s School, 925 Chenery Street (near Swiss).

The Glen Park Merchant’s Association has set up a special account for donations to Mr. Park at Citi Bank at the corner of Diamond and Bosworth streets. Donations to help defray the costs of Mr. Park’s medical expenses can be made there. ~~ Additionally, donations of blood can be made in Mr. Park’s name by calling Irwin Memorial Blood Center at 749-6655. Blood donations in his name will help defray the costs of blood that he has required while at SFGH. ~~

Glen Park at tipping point on violent crime

Jennie Park keeps crying. She doesn't mean to but the tears bubble up unexpectedly.

Certainly she is deeply gratified that so many of her Glen Park neighbors are stopping by her store, Buddies Market, to ask about her husband, Paul. Friday night, at closing time, he was beaten, tied up, stabbed and robbed. He's better, Jennie says, but she can't shake the fact that one of the knife blows nicked his liver and her 53-year-old husband nearly bled to death on the store floor.
